Tegetec

Industrial Food Processing Equipment Provider

Role

Solo: Audit, IA, Design, Frontend, SEO

Year

2025

Duration

~2 working days build, ~1 month elapsed (domain transfer)

Overview

The Challenge

Modernize dated B2B industrial equipment site with thin SEO coverage, limited accessibility, and dense technical content without clear information architecture. Budget ~20K DKK with requirement to maintain 99% mail uptime during domain transfer.

The Solution

Solo delivery across full stack: comprehensive audit identifying UX/SEO gaps, restructured IA with three primary sections, static Nuxt 4 build avoiding backend costs, comprehensive Schema.org markup, EU cookie consent with GTM consent-mode, and carefully planned DNS cutover to preserve MX records.

The Outcome

Launched modern B2B platform with refreshed visual system, compliant policy/cookie layer, and SEO-ready foundation. Static SSG deployment with long-cache headers, performance optimizations, and accessibility features including skip links, reduced-motion handling, and contrast-checked palette.

Process

1

Audit & Strategy

Identified issues in old site: dated UX/visuals, thin SEO/meta coverage, limited accessibility focus, dense technical content without clear IA. Light benchmarking of OEM partner materials. Kickoff goals: modernize design, clarify navigation for technical info, tighten SEO hygiene, keep support open post-launch. No numeric KPIs set.

2

Information Architecture

Restructured into three primary sections: Equipment & Solutions (system cards, process flow, chubmaker specs), Collaborators, About/Contact. Added dedicated downloads and policy pages with anchors for service/contact. Target segments: food/industrial producers (pasta, rice, vegetables, legumes, meats, adhesives, etc.) in Nordics and selected EU (Denmark, Finland, Spain).

3

Design & Development

Built with Nuxt 4 + @nuxt/ui, Tailwind CSS v4, @nuxt/image (IPX), SSG output. Implemented custom design tokens, accordion/table pattern for deep OEM specs without overwhelming users. Local fonts + long-cache headers for assets. No client-side theming to reduce runtime cost. Static generation for CDN hosting.

4

SEO & Compliance

Implemented comprehensive Schema.org markup (WebSite, Organization/Service, AboutPage, CollectionPage, policy JSON-LD). Canonicals, custom titles/keywords/descriptions per page, OG/Twitter cards. EU cookie control with GTM/GA via consent-mode defaults, reject-all prominent, script gating before GTM load. Accessibility: skip link, focus-visible styling, reduced-motion handling, semantic tables, SR-only labels.

Challenges & Solutions

Domain Transfer with Mail Continuity

Problem:

Transferring domain ownership while maintaining 99% mail uptime required careful DNS and MX record management.

Solution:

Planned DNS cutover to avoid MX downtime. Coordinated transfer timing with client to minimize service interruption.

Deep OEM Specs Without Overwhelming

Problem:

Presenting detailed technical specifications for industrial equipment (chubmaker data, system specs) without overwhelming non-technical buyers.

Solution:

Implemented accordion/table pattern for specs, cards and stepper for process overview, allowing progressive disclosure of technical details.

EU Consent Compliance

Problem:

Meeting GDPR cookie consent requirements while integrating analytics tracking for future optimization.

Solution:

Reject-all prominent in cookie banner, script gating before GTM load, consent-mode updates ensuring compliant tracking setup.

Results

Tegetec successfully launched with modernized visual system, clear IA, and compliant infrastructure. Static SSG build eliminates backend costs while GTM/GA4 integration positions site for data-driven optimization once consented traffic accumulates. No post-launch metrics yet collected but foundation established for measurement.

  • Solo delivery across audit, IA, design, frontend, and SEO in ~2 working days
  • Static Nuxt 4 build eliminating ongoing backend/hosting costs
  • Comprehensive Schema.org markup (WebSite, Organization, Service, AboutPage, policies)
  • Full GDPR compliance with EU cookie consent and GTM consent-mode
  • Accessibility features: skip links, focus-visible, reduced-motion, semantic tables
  • Multi-region contact system: DK/ES/FI offices with mailto/tel direct contact

Key Learnings

  • Domain transfers require careful planning to maintain critical services like email
  • Progressive disclosure (accordions, steppers) essential for technical B2B content
  • Static SSG builds dramatically reduce costs for content-focused B2B sites
  • GDPR compliance must be prominent (reject-all) before any tracking scripts load
  • Solo delivery possible with tight scope and modern tooling (Nuxt 4, Tailwind, @nuxt/ui)

Next Steps

  • Wire form/CRM endpoint for contact requests beyond mailto/tel
  • Add localized content if needed for broader EU market
  • Publish case studies and metrics once traffic data available
  • Set up GA4/GTM dashboards after consentable traffic accumulates
